stuff done: Saturday-Thursday

1. Completed five more NYS tax training modules, go me. \o/
2. Bought a set of non-denominational holiday cards for next year so I won't have to worry about that next fall. It is always a bit of a struggle to find something that A) includes enough cards in the set, B) doesn't look hideous, and C) isn't ruinously expensive. I can get actual Christmas-themed ones every other year, since a set of twenty leaves me with a few leftovers, but I send cards to a few people who specifically aren't Christian and don't celebrate Christmas, so non-denominational is important.
3. Took recycling bins to the curb for pickup on Sunday night.
4. Changed linens.
5. Washed laundry. Dried laundry. Put laundry away.
6. Threw out an old shirt that had become too ratty to wear even as pajamas -- the right shoulder was literally more hole than cloth. Farewell, shirt. You came to me already secondhand (Vicky decided she didn't like it, back when we were both teenagers) and served me faithfully and well lo these many years. I am sad to see you go. :(
7. Signed, illustrated, sealed, and mailed all of my remaining holiday cards for the year. (I am not actually mailing cards to my nuclear family; those will get delivered in person at Christmas.)
8. Harvested peppers, thawed beef, chopped vegetables, and made another batch of fajita filling. I think next time I'd go for slightly smaller beef slices, but it tastes pretty good if I do say so myself. :)
9. Photographed my peppers.
10. Took kitchen compost to the backyard bin several times.
11. Wrote a bunch of three sentence ficlets. Updated my Dreamwidth fic directory posts to include all of those ficlets that are currently crossposted to AO3. (I will deal with the rest in due time.)
12. Outlined my Yuletide fic.
13. Outlined my Daredevil Secret Santa fic. It is... not going to be what my recipient asked for. I am physically and mentally incapable of writing the story they asked for. Trust me, I have tried. But it will be as close to the requested story as I am able to get, for whatever that's worth. I mean, I think it will be a pretty decent story in its own right! Just, really not what my recipient was hoping to get out of this exchange. *droops guiltily*
(And before you ask, the other prompts were even more impossible for various and sundry reasons. Like, if you've been following me for a while, you may remember my woes when trying to write from a deity's POV for the 2015 NFE? These prompts hit approximately that level of sheer subconscious iron-bar NOPE NOT GOING THERE for me. It's not even a squick, just a complete inability to make myself buy into the required ideas well enough and long enough to write them.)
14. Picked up an extra shift at the rental office next week, covering for Miss Cactus. That will compensate for missing a shift this Saturday while I'm in New Jersey. Speaking of which...
15. Made a packing list for my trip to NJ this weekend.
16. Packed for my trip, except the stuff I am currently using and therefore can't pack until the morning.
17. Watered my houseplants.
18. Boiled some eggs.
19. Paid my monthly internet bill.
20. Backed up my laptop.
And now I should probably take some Benadryl and go to bed, because I have a long day tomorrow and I never sleep well the night before a trip.
