a long day
May. 7th, 2022 11:03 pmToday I:
1. Wrote and sent out three leases.
2. Tried to talk one prospective tenant who already received lease documents a couple days ago into just fucking PAYING already so I didn't have to send out two of those leases to new people who might snipe the apartment out from under him, but he didn't seem to grasp the issue and insisted he'd sign and pay on Monday. Ah well, I tried.
3. Received three completed leases -- two via email and one in-person at the office -- and got them ready for Mr. Geniality to process on Monday.
4. Showed apartments to three separate sets of prospective tenants. Each tour involved a minimum of two buildings and multiple staircases. Stood around for 15 minutes waiting for my fourth tour, but the person no-showed, argh.
5. Began assembling my carefully prepared move-out packets and distributed them to the tenants of several of our properties. This involved even more staircases, since only one of the properties in question has an elevator. Ah, the joys of buildings that predate the ADA by multiple decades and have not been upgraded. *sigh*
6. Answered inquiries.
7. Took some photos of spare furniture (and old broken furniture -- why do we still have that anyway???) in a maintenance storage room, which should hopefully help me and Mr. Geniality plan what we can and can't provide to incoming tenants who have rented partially furnished units.
...
My feet are killing me and I have had no caffeine since noon. I think I will go take some ibuprofen for my feet and some Tylenol for the headache that's slowly sneaking up on me, and then fall into bed.
